-SATURDAY-DA SHOW-
Well after 300+ miles of driving the rest of Friday was wind down time. The weather was in the 90's and clear blue skies, what a beautiful day. Saturday morning come early and again another beautifully day, looking at mid 80's and lots of sun and it was car show day, so off we went.
The actual car show was at the Beach Barons own show grounds further north at Ocean Park. It is about 9 miles from Long Beach to Ocean park where the show grounds were. The street rods and customs were bumper to bumper going both ways, a show in its self. I would have liked to take some pics but was afraid I would run into a 100 grand street rod so no pics of the north / south parade. At the grounds the parking was great ( however knowing now what I didn't know then there was a much better spot reserved for w/c vans but the people parking me didn't tell me that) but as I said they were great they ushered me all the way to about 40 ft from the gate where Barbara and Tom caught up with me. Denny and Linda had to go to a different gate as the Charger was entered in the show. I ask the attendant there as I left later that afternoon how many cars were there and he said at last count they had 993 entered in the show ( that doesn't include the maybe that number or more that didn't enter and was there in town just for the run.
now just a tiny few of the the cars I thought were cool

Why not start with a classic leadslede..got to love it

this 48 was camped in our camp area..I had one like it in 1973 but never got it built...this thing sounded SWEEET

how about a tilt noise suicide doorf100. this car is also on the 2009 sweatshirt. .I got one thanks to Linda

bet you grand ma's henry J didn't look like this. The meats on the back of this were 16+ inches wide

Question is...would it take this 55 straight axel blown post, my money is on the H J just cuz it cooler. There were hoards of generic 55,56,57 Chevys but only a couple truly picture worthy.

this chev nomad had the coolest paint scheme

check out the huge metal flakes in the paint, eyelids and minimal chrome, it just set this chev off

rare..a 2 door 59 ford wagon, can't remember what they were called

It is my humble opinion that the 57, 58 and 59 ford fairlanes were with out a doubt the most beautiful fairlanes ( if not fords period) ford ever built. the pic doesn't give this 59 credit. it was a nicely done car

can you guess... it a merc..well kind of.. how about a chop top lowered "60" cat eye comet
